How You Can Help

The Process

I’ll be reading and researching different alternatives that I’ll want to float past all of you. Your feedback will help me hone the plan into something that can actually work.

All ideas are welcomed!

If you have a thought like: this won’t work because XYZ – say so. If you have a better idea like: if you did this instead, you’d get the same outcome for less money – say so! Bottom line – if you’ve got a viable idea, say so! Rightist, leftist, centrist, no-trist!  I don’t care about your politics – it’s your thoughtful approach to solving the healthcare problem that concerns me & the pPI.

CREDITS

I found a great book I’m still in the process of reading: Redefining Health Care, Creating Value-Based Competition on Results, by Michael E. Porter & Elizabeth Olmsted Teisberg (Harvard press). It cites many other references – all impressive. But that’s not the point – what they’re saying makes sense – remember common sense?  A heavy dose of common sense is exactly what our healthcare system needs.

I take lots of info from this tome (509 pages including index, notes, bibliography, etc. Gag!) I hope they’ll understand that I am not trying to claim these ideas as my own – I’m simply trying to implement them! And many internet articles (Some listed below).

The European Observatory on Health Care Systems is a partnership between the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, the Government of Norway, the Government of Spain, the European Investment Bank, the World Bank, the London School of Economics and Political Science, and the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine in association with the Open Society Institute.

Structure of The pPI — Ads Please!

The pPI is not a nonprofit. This is simply a blog and website aimed at real problem solving. I will try to make money by selling ad space – I’ve got to eat if I’m going to fight for healthcare reform! And I may not be in a position to be fussy about advertisers. But I in no way endorse any of them!

So if you want to help, please send me your ad or have a friend send theirs!  As I’m new to this effort, I’m open to negotiation — and advice!  Please send your ad requests to: ads@.the-pi.org.  Thank you!

And I could use your editing help as well.  If you find you have to read a section more than once to understand it, please let me know.  I’ll try to simplify it if at all possible.  This should not be painful!  So please let me know if something is unclear or difficult to follow.  The ‘people’ & I will thank you!
